General information
- Why partner with Uber?
Millions of people around the world use the Uber Eats platform every day to get what they need delivered to their door. Partnering with Uber Eats could benefit your business in many ways, including these:
- Get access to a potential new customer base that can discover, interact with, and order from your business in a whole new way
- Your business may be featured on the front page of our website as “New” for the first 2 weeks you're live on Uber Eats, attracting potential new customers from day one
- We're constantly advertising to help attract new users to Uber Eats in an effort to continually bring new audiences to your business.
- You have flexibility in how to use Uber Eats, whether that's choosing to use your own delivery staff, let customers order on the app and pick up, or use delivery people on the Uber Eats platform
- What pickup and delivery solutions do you offer?
There are 3 different options for delivering an Uber Eats order to a customer:
- By a delivery person on the Uber Eats platform
- By a member of your staff
- By customer self-pickup at your restaurant or store
You can also do option 1 through Uber Direct, where you’re using your own channels to generate orders from your existing customer base and tapping into Uber’s delivery network to get those orders delivered.
- What is the difference between Marketplace, Uber Direct, and Webshop?
Marketplace: The Uber Eats marketplace is for merchants to list their products for consumers to order directly through the Uber Eats app. Reach new customers by listing your business on the Uber Eats marketplace with flexible options for delivery, self-delivery, and pickup.
Uber Direct: This on-demand delivery platform is for businesses that take orders through their website, app, or phone. Whether you run a restaurant, a retail store, a grocery store, or any other business, you can offer your customers delivery in under 2 hours, on the same day, or scheduled up to 30 days in advance.*
Webshop: Through Webshop, you can create a new revenue stream by enabling delivery and pickup directly from your website and social media accounts, powered by Uber Eats. It’s an easy way for you to meet your customers where they are, leveraging your existing menu and hours to get started quickly. You can also get direct access to your customers, including names and emails, if they opt in at checkout.
- Can I still use Uber Eats if my restaurant currently uses another delivery platform?
Yes. Uber Eats offers its own marketplace of customers and drivers that you can tap into, even if you’re already using another delivery service.
Getting started
- What are the requirements to join Uber Eats?
Go here to complete our Uber Eats interest form. A team member will review your application for the following requirements:
- Is your store within a geography currently available on the Uber Eats app?
- Is your store a licensed business that sells prepared food or essentials/convenience items?
- Is your store not already on the Uber Eats platform? (If you’re looking to add a location to an existing partnership, please make sure you input a new street address for your additional location on Uber Eats.)
- Does your application include a copy of your menu or inventory?
- How do I sign up for Uber Eats?
In order to become an Uber Eats merchant partner, you first need to fill out this interest form. Please give us your store name and details, number of locations, and estimated weekly to-go orders.
Please note: we can’t partner with every merchant that applies.
- Does Uber Eats provide couriers, and can I use my own delivery staff?
You can select your delivery options based on what works best for you: use Uber’s network of couriers, use your own couriers, or limit your orders to customer pickups.
- How do I accept orders?
This depends on whether you’re integrated with Uber Eats or using a separate tablet. If you’re integrated, orders will flow directly through your restaurant systems. If you’re using a separate tablet, this is how orders will work:
When a new order comes in, your Uber Eats Orders screen will flash green and a sound will play. To make sure you hear new orders coming in, we recommend doing the following:
- Keep your Uber Eats Orders device at a high volume so that you can hear any new order notifications.
- Check the circled number on the flashing green screen to confirm the number of new orders you’re receiving.
Then you can follow these steps to fulfill new orders:
- Tap the flashing green screen to view new order information.
- Hand off the order to the kitchen. You can enter the new order information in your POS or relay the order verbally to kitchen staff. If you have printing enabled, you can select Print to print the order.
- Choose Confirm after the kitchen has begun preparing the new order. This will notify the customer that their order is being prepared.
- When the order is complete, package it and have it ready for the courier when they arrive. Be sure to confirm that the name and order ID is correct before handing off the order to them.
- Does Uber Eats integrate with my POS system?
We partner with most of the leading POS platforms (such as Clover, Square, and Toast), as well as solutions that aggregate orders and inject them into POS platforms (including Checkmate, Deliverect, Olo, and Otter). To learn more about our platform partners, go here.
Pricing and payments
- What pricing plans does Uber offer?
We offer a range of flexible pricing plans designed to meet your business where it is. Whether you're just getting started or ready to scale, choose the option that fits your goals and budget best.
- How and when do I receive payments?
Distribution of Uber Eats payments occurs weekly by direct deposit into your bank account.
The Uber Eats remittance period runs in your time zone from 12am Monday until 12am the following Monday, with deposits initiating on Mondays. It typically takes 1-2 days for banks to process payments, so you should receive deposits by the middle of each week. If you have recently updated your bank information or input it for the first time, it can take an additional week for payments to post.**
You can review all your past pay statements by logging in to your Uber Eats Manager account at restaurant.uber.com from your computer and navigating to the Payments tab. You can also download an order-by-order breakdown of each payment, including order number, date, time, tax, subtotal, fees, adjustments, and net payout.
