Lesson 6: Using analytics and insights

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to use data to get to know your customers, optimize your operations, and make business decisions with confidence.

Let’s start with what’s included. This lesson covers how to monitor your performance on Uber Eats, what you can learn from the numbers, and ways you can put your learnings into action.

Part 1: Track your performance

Information is power. Learn how to track changes, monitor performance, and understand trends that can help your business grow.

Part 2: Get actionable recommendations

Make better decisions with data. Get custom recommendations tailored to your business’ performance and customers’ habits.

Part 1: Track your performance

Analytics measure your business’s performance over time to help you understand important things about your business: who your customers are, how your business is doing, and what’s driving growth or change. By taking out the guesswork, you can do more of what’s working and less of what isn’t.

Make informed decisions backed by data

See what people are loving, and where things could be improved

Track your performance week-over-week or year-over-year

Simplify operations and learn where you can maximize revenue

Go to the Analytics tab in your Uber Eats Manager to learn about your sales, operations, and customers.

Sales

In this tab, you can choose to look at a general overview of your sales analytics, or you can zoom in to view sales by the hour or by the store. You can also view leaderboards to identify trends, like best-selling items or highest-selling stores.

Start tracking sales over time

  • Select the store and time period for which you want to view sales data.
  • Toggle between Sales, Orders, and Ticket Size.
  • Drag your cursor over the chart to view your sales between the current and previous periods.
  • Any time a graph says “last period” it is the same length of time as the selected date range.

Operations

Here is where you can track your online rate, which makes it easier for customers to order from you, and your order issues, which may impact customer reviews and future sales. If you have multiple locations, you can also track orders by store, as well as see which stores are most efficient.

Start viewing your store’s or locations’ performance

  • Click Download in the top-right corner to download a copy of these reports for your records.
  • Scroll down to view more detailed charts about your stores’ performance.

Customers

This is where you can see what your customers are loving. Choose to look at who’s clicking into your storefront, see how many new or returning customers you have, and understand how they’re ordering.

Start optimizing your offering

  • The Conversion Funnel lets you know how appealing your menu is. See how often your menu was viewed, how often items were added to a cart, and how often an order was placed.

  • Keep scrolling to view how new and returning customers are ordering.

Part 2: Get actionable recommendations

Stay ahead of the curve with data-driven recommendations tailored to your business. Uber Insights gives you actionable tips that can help you attract more customers, increase revenue, and optimize your menu and offering.

Every recommendation in your Insights tab is based on your performance, so they may look different each time.

Reply to reviews

If your Uber Eats storefront isn’t getting as many views as your competitors, your Insights might suggest trying replying to more of your reviews.

Launch a promotion
