Making operations easier: Square relaunches its Uber Eats integration
May 2025
Managing technology in a restaurant can feel like running the line during a Friday-night rush: intense, fast-moving, and full of moving parts. Operators today juggle POS (point-of-sale) systems, online ordering tools, third-party delivery platforms, order aggregators, reservation software, and more—all while keeping service running smoothly.
That’s why Uber Eats has partnered with Square for years to offer restaurants a familiar and seamless way to manage incoming third-party delivery orders. Now we’re working together to make that experience even better. Announced on May 13th during Square’s Releases event, the latest update to our integration with Square introduces significant improvements to menu management, price-setting flexibility, reliability, the onboarding process, and more—all designed to simplify operations and save time for restaurant teams.
Read on to discover how the new set of features can help you streamline your store operations, improve control, and get up and running as quickly as possible.
What’s new with the Square POS integration?
Streamline in-store operations
Run your restaurant more smoothly by centralizing tasks and reducing friction during service.
- Centralized order management: Route Uber Eats orders directly to your Square POS and your KDS (kitchen display systems)—no separate tablet required.
- Live menu updates: Make changes to your full menu or mark items out of stock in Square, and those updates will sync instantly with your Uber Eats storefront.
- On-the-fly controls: Pause incoming orders during busy periods, alert couriers when food is ready, and manage order flows directly from your POS.
Onboard efficiently
Start accepting orders on Uber Eats in just a few minutes using a self-service onboarding flow.
- Easy menu syncing: Choose full menus or specific items to list on Uber Eats.
- Multilocation support: Match each of your Square locations to the correct Uber Eats storefronts with ease.
- Custom pricing options: Set online prices with percentage-based or flat-fee adjustments to align with your business strategy.
1. Start your setup
In your Square dashboard, go to Account & Settings > Online Sales Channels. Find Uber Eats in the “Food pickup and delivery” section and choose Set up.
2. Enter your business details
Sign in to (or create) your Uber Eats account. Then choose which store locations you’d like to connect, set business hours, sync menu details, and review pricing.
3. Activate the integration
After confirming your settings, choose Activate integration. Once connected, your Square menu will sync to Uber Eats and orders will begin flowing into your Square POS, appearing in Order Manager and triggering your printers or KDS.
If you're currently using an older version of the integration, you’ll need to follow these same steps to upgrade.
More ways to connect with Uber
Today’s restaurants are managing a mix of third-party and first-party channels. While reaching new customers through Uber Eats is one path to growth, many businesses also drive orders through their own websites or apps. That’s why we also offer integrations like Uber Direct, which connects Square Online Ordering with Uber’s delivery network for orders placed directly with your restaurant.
No matter how you engage with customers—on your own site or through a marketplace—we’re committed to building flexible, dependable integrations that help you reach your version of success, across all channels.
