How to edit and manage your menu in Menu Maker
Learn how to create and edit menus, preview them from the eater's perspective, and manage individual items. Whether you're adding new items, updating details, or enhancing your menu's visual appeal.

How is a menu structured?
In Uber Eats Manager, if you click the Menu icon, you can see that we have 4 different terms that we use to build your menu.
Menu
Different menus can be set up for different times of the day. For example, the breakfast menu from 7am to 11am or the lunch menu from 11am to 4pm. Each menu will have certain hours or days assigned. A menu has the following categories per day:
- Breakfast
- Food
- Lunch
- Dinner
Categories
Categories are groups of items used to organize your menu.
Some examples:
- Appetizers
- Desserts
- Fan favorites
You can organize your Lunch menu, for instance, with appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
Create the categories you think are necessary.
Items
Items are usually individual foods that form categories. Smaller items like condiments or toppings can be used to customize larger items. For example, a cheeseburger can be customized with tomatoes and ketchup.
Customization
You can group smaller item sets into modifier groups and then link them to larger items. For example, you can create a modifier group for toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, and mustard, then link it to a cheeseburger and chicken sandwich.

- Size (Small/Medium/Large)
- Toppings
- Dressings
- Accompaniments
How to improve your menu in order to attract more customers
- Structure your menu using categories
- Add clear pictures to your food items
- Add clear and simple descriptions of the food
- Highlight your best dishes and deals by making a special/ deal category that you put at the beginning of your online store
- Create different sizes for your food
- Add possible customizations to items
- Many customers have certain dietary preferences - consider adding options for vegetarian, vegan, lactose and gluten-free dishes
Menus
- Step 1: After logging into Uber Eats Manager, click on the Menu icon
- Step 2: Go to the Menus tab
- Step 3: Tap on the + New Menu
- Step 4: Create a name for your menu (ex: Breakfast)
- Step 5: Select on what days you want to have it
- Step 6: Select the Start time and End time for the Menu
- Step 7: Click Save
If you want your menu to be available at different times on different days of the week you can simply click on the Add more days and times.
How to edit an existing menu
- Step 1: In Uber Eats Manager, Click on the Menu icon
- Step 2: Go to the Overview tab
- Step 3: Select a menu on which you want to make the changes
- Step 4: Edit the items that are on the menu, or add new ones. If you want to change the hours of the menu you can simply click the Edit button on the right
How to preview the menu from the customer's perspective
- Step 1: In Uber Eats Manager, click on the Menu icon
- Step 2: Go to the Overview tab
- Step 3: Select a menu you want to make changes to
- Step 4: Tap on the View Online button from the right corner
Categories
How to create a new category
- Step 1: Go to the Overview tab
- Step 2: Select the menu on which you would like to add a category
- Step 3: Tap on the +Add
- Step 4: Tap on Add category
- Step 5: Add a name of the category
- Step 6: Add the menus in which you would like to have the category
- Step 7: Save
Items
How to add a new item
- Step 1: Click on the Menu icon
- Step 2: Go to the Overview tab
- Step 3: Tap on the +Add
- Step 4: Tap on Add item. The edit panel will open.
- Step 5: Add the name, product type, photo, description & price and assign the item to the categories in your menu.
- Step 6: Increase the attractiveness of items by adding energy values, dietary attributes, temperature, cuisine type, meal type, and protein type.
- Step 7: Click Save
How to edit the details of an item
- Step 1: Go to the Items tab
- Step 2: Select the item on which you would like to edit the details
- Step 3: This will lead you to a new page where you can do all the edits
What item details can you edit?
- Name
- Change or add photo
- Description of the product
- Sell the item individually or only as a menu package
- In which category the customers can find it (ex: breakfast, main, dinner)
- Different prices for delivery and pick up
- Mark an item out of stock
- Temperature (heated, unheated, cold )
- Dietary attributes (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)
- Add energy values (cal / KJ)
- Add extra details (temperature, cuisine type, meal type, protein type
How to upload a photo of an item
- Step 1: Go on Uber Eats Manager and click on the Menu icon
- Step 2: Choose the item for which you want to upload the picture
- Step 3: In the about section, scroll to see a photo section
- Step 4: Click Add Photo
Photo guidance
Always upload photographs that faithfully reproduce the dish that the customer will receive.
How to delete an item
- Step 1: Go to the Items tab
- Step 2: Select the item on which you would like to edit the details
- Step 3: Tap Delete on the right corner
Customization
How to add a new customization
- Step 1: Go to the Overview tab
- Step 2: Select the menu on which you would like to add a customization
- Step 3: Tap on the +Add
- Step 4: Tap on Add customization
- Step 5: Add the customer instruction (ex: Add toppings )
- Step 6: Click Save
- Step 7: Tap on Edit Options
- Step 8: Select an item that you already have (ex: ham, cheese)
- Step 9: Create a new option
- Step 10: Go back to Customizations
- Step 11: Search the menu in which you want to add the customization
- Step 12: Select the items on which you want to add the customization
- Step 13: Tap apply to the number of items
